Filmography
Botanist and biologist, Francis Hallé specialises in tree architecture and the ecology of tropical rainforests. Former botanical professor at the University of Montpellier, he is a fervent defender of the primary rainforests. From 1986 to 2003, he led scientific missions with the ”Forest Canopy Raft” over the tops of the tropical rainforests. His most recent book ”The Tropical Condition”, published by Acte Sud, February 2010. Here an extract from an interview with F. Hallé on France Culture the 27th of February 2010 on the occasion of the publication of his work: THE TROPICAL CONDITION (2010).
In this passage we retain especially the notion of photoperiodism, a phenomenon found in vision (the wavelengths perceived by the eyes find their way to the pineal gland).
